A review of the solvency ratio of 16 European and UK groups that published their 2024 Solvency and Financial Condition Reports (SFCR) early this year, shows that 10 reported an increase in their solvency ratio.
Most companies reported an increase in both the Eligible Own Funds (EOF) to meet the SCR and the Solvency Capital Requirement (SCR). Only six firms reported a decrease in either.

The chart shows the percentage change between 2023 and 2024 of the SCR ratio (right axis, line) and the EOF and SCR (left axis, bars)
The shifts in the ratio are due to an increase in the difference between the OEF and SCR.
