Nelson Insurance Company Limited, a Gibraltar based subsidiary of the Nelson Group. The Nelson Group 2023 SFCR describes the group structure as follows:
“The Nelson Group (the ‘Nelson Group’ or the ‘Group’) of Companies consists of two separate legal
entities:
• Nelson Limited (‘NL’ or the ‘Holding Company’) – Gibraltar registered investment holding
company with 100% ownership of Nelson Insurance Company Limited and no other
investments/activities.
• Nelson Insurance Company Limited (‘NICL’, the ‘Company’ or the ‘Insurance Company’) –
Gibraltar registered and licensed insurance company”.
Nelson Insurance Company Limited reported a Solvency II ratio of 132% in the 2023 SFCR.
All of the insurer’s Eligible Own Funds to meet the SCR comprise tier 1 restricted capital. In 2018 & 2019 some tier 3 capital was applied as well.
